So, here's the delio kidlets: I have a lot going on...as in A LOT! Whereas we are well aware of my unrequited love for quotes and, even more, my love for all of you, I can't ignore the facts. My coaching business is starting to take off and my time with clients is starting to eat into my blog time. I'd say "no bueno," but let's be real, homegirl needs/likes mula (I'd prefer to not go the ramen noodle diet route, thank you very much). That said, before you break out the kleenex and snuggle up to my good friends Ben & Jerry, let me tell you that I'm not going away completely. While you can still get your daily Lindsay fix over at my other web lovechild five days a week, I will be back in blogging action on those other two days of the week (you know, during that day-duet called the weekend).

So, mark it in your calendars and let the countdown begin. Four more days my friends, four more days.

XO,
The girl who wrote the quote

Hello kidlets!

First off, thank you for all of the birthday lovin'! Each and every one of you have made this birthday better than I could have ever expected! That said, I'm going to let "the good times keep on rollin'" and will be taking the night off to enjoy a birthday-tastic evening with the BF. I will report back tomorrow--promise. In the mean time, check out The Life Muse.com! Lot's of good reading material should you still need your nightly "Linds fix" (kidding, kinda).

Later gators!

Today's quote of the day (QOTD) is pretty much my life motto. Then again, I've pretty much spinned it to fit my own mental schema...
"Constantly choosing the lesser of two evils is still choosing evil!"
-Jerry Garcia

My entire life, my dad has always said to my brother and me: "if you're going to do something, then DO IT!" In other words, if you're going to do something, give it all you've got--no half-assing allowed! Now, I'm pretty sure that when my dad used to say this to me, he didn't mean it in an "if you're going to eat dessert, EAT DESSERT" kind of way. Actually, I know  he didn't mean it that way but, different strokes for different folks.

Either way, my dad's advice has, over time, pretty much turned me into an "extremist" of sorts. Whereas I'm definitely not the kind of person who's going to go skydiving on a random Tuesday (although that is on my bucket list--told you I was a "list" lover), I am the kind of person who, if I decide I'm going to do something, then I'm going to do it in a drastic, overtly crazy kind of way. So, rather than opting to choose NO evil (since the lesser of two evils is still evil), I happen to be the person who instead drops the middle option (the lesser of the evils), instead opting for one of the two extremes (umm, did that last sentence even make sense?!). Just goes to show you that, while most quotes are full of wisdom, sometimes you've got to contort said quotes to fit YOUR lifestyle, YOUR beliefs, and YOUR wellbeing.

Happy Monday, all! Got some fun stuff to share with you tomorrow!

PS, if you haven't done so already, try heading on over to my other web baby that launched earlier today--TheLifeMuse.com!

Hey kiddos. For those of you who follow me on twitter, you know that my night has pretty much consisted of this:
SO good, yet so bad. Good thing the BF was nearby because, around two-thirds in, I decided pawning it off on his lovely self would be the best way to go (oops). The couple that eats chocolate together, stays together, right?!

But my chocolate loving ways aside, tonight's post is going to have to be on the short side. I have A LOT up my sleeve and am in the middle of working on something called "The Life Muse" ...but more about that tomorrow. In the mean time, allow me to leave you with some glorious, quote-tastic advice.
"Being happy doesn't mean that everything is perfect. It means that you've decided to look beyond the imperfections."
-Unknown

Don't you think it's slightly ironic that the word "imperfections" didn't fit in it's entirety on one line?! I'm going to go with a big, resounding YES! Speaking of imperfections, I'm no superwoman and can't do 100 billion things at once. So with that, I must say later gators.

Gotta go make sh*t happen...

Last night I had the privilege of being a guest on stand-up comedian Dave Arena's radio show: It Doesn't Matter You're Gonna Die. Let me just say, I had a blast talking about "fear" with Dave, Michael Luckman, and the rest of last night's show participants. A lot of great points were made, shared, and discussed. Definitely something you should check out if/when you get a chance!! Oh, and now that TQIW has a "Press" page, listening to last night's show is that much easier (*insert shameless plug here*). Sorry, not sorry.

That said, whether or not you choose to listen to the soundbite from last night's show, I sincerely hope you choose to learn a thing or two from today's quote of the day...
"You cannot solve a problem with the same mind that created it!"
-Albert Einstein

As discussed on last night's show, most of our fears are false beliefs--the product of our own imaginations. Whereas most of these fears stem from not thinking we are good enough, smart enough, cool enough, or whatever enough, the fact of the matter is, YOU are the one acting as your own worst enemy and as your own worst judge. And, the craziest part of it all is that, in life, you're supposed to be your own biggest fan! Seriously. If you don't believe in yourself, how can you expect others to believe in you? Exactly, you can't.

So, what does this all mean?

Well, first it means: stop living in fear. Stop living in a way that looks more like how other's want and feel you should be living and, instead, begin to live in your own truth. Begin to live in the way that YOU believe is best for YOU. Not the best for your mom, your dad, your siblings, significant other, friends, boss, or roommate, but best for YOU! I mean it. Just as Einstein's quote implies, if you can't begin to change the way you think,--and in particular, the way you think of yourself--then you can't expect for other's to view you differently either.

If you're nodding along as you're reading this, then guess what: you're already halfway there! This is because awareness of your thoughts is the first step towards living a fear free life (well, almost fear free...you can never be fully devoid of fear, but that's a whole other post of a story).

I guess one of the best pieces of advice I can give you when it comes to shifting mental paradigms is this: it's not can you change, but will you change? Will you, as Luckman said last night, power through your fears, and if so, when?

It's kind of funny because, whenever I'm with the BF and I go to post a quote in a random place as part of The Quotation Inspiration Project, the BF always gets a little bit nervous. In fact, I've gotten a few emails from readers who have the same concern: I feel like I'm doing something wrong when I go to post a quote...like I'm not supposed to be doing this. Well, the truth is, these readers (the BF included) all have a point. Posting quotes in unexpected, public places isn't something that most people do. Then again, that's the whole point: to inspire others in an unexpected, unconventional way. Truth be told, I myself was a little fearful and nervous the first time I went to post a quote as part of "the project." But, when I started to receive emails and blog comments from people who actually saw the posted quotes, and were in fact inspired, I once again remembered why I, in the first place, had decided to start The Quotation Inspiration Project. If I'm not brave enough to post a piece of paper, then I can't expect others to be inspired and/or motivated by my work...by the quote(s) I wrote.

That said, when I went to post today's quote at Trader Joe's yesterday afternoon, I, despite their being other shoppers and "crew" members around, was reminded of why I post quotes. I was reminded of why I shouldn't be afraid to post this quote, in this place...
Oh, and you know what? There is no better feeling then when I have just posted a quote and, while walking away, get to see people reading, pointing, and/or talking about that little nugget of wisdom I just posted. NO better feeling.

So, as you embark on this terrific Tuesday (cheesy, I know), I hope you're able to fight through your fears, and live life out of your comfort zone and in your own truth.

Have a great day, everyone!!

Hey hey! Don't think that I forgot about that "second post" idea I was toying with yesterday. In fact, my second post idea maintains what I believe to be a substantial amount of insight and overall takeaway. So, if you will, check back later for what's likely to be a more editorial(-esque) post. In the mean time, I hope you are enjoying your weekend! ...Will meet you back here a little later.

Ciao!

As stated in my description of the blog, this new and bigger blog also has a new and bigger mission: to inspire and motivate others via the power of the quote! That said, clearly I am only one person and can only "spread the word" (literally) so far. And that's where each and every one of you and "The Quotation Inspiration Project" come in!

The goal of the The Quotation Inspiration Project is to inspire and touch as many individuals as possible. Whether it's simply a smile, or a genuine bout of self-empowerment, self-love, self-improvement, and/or self-discovery, when someone reads an uplifting quote that is posted in an unexpected place, it's hard not to have some sort of positive response.

So, how can you take part in The Quotation Inspiration Project?! Well, it's pretty easy. All you need is a marker, paper, and a piece of tape! Oh, and your favorite quote, of course. Simply write down your favorite quote, tape it up in a public place, and take a picture of the quote YOU wrote! Then, email your picture to TheQuoteIWrote@gmail.com and see your picture of your quote posted on TheQuoteIWrote.com the very next day!

I may be the girl who "wrote the quote," but that doesn't mean you can't write and post quotes too! So please, join me by taking part in the The Quotation Inspiration Project and together we can make the world a more inspired place...one quote at a time!
